At Lighthouse, we’ve always believed that what you put in your cup matters. That belief is what led us to Hika.Gen 光原.

Hika.Gen 光原 — Origin of Light is our curated collection of ceremonial matcha, premium matcha, and specialty hojicha, sourced directly from the volcanic hills of Kagoshima, Japan. The name means origin of light — and that’s exactly the feeling we wanted to carry into every cup.

Not the loud kind. The quiet kind that returns you to yourself.

Why Kagoshima?

Kagoshima sits at the southern tip of Japan, where active volcanic soil, clean coastal air, and misty hills create the precise conditions for tea that is clean and true. Our teas come specifically from Shibushi — a region where farmers protect the craft, not the shortcut. Slow stone-milling. Patient seasons. A leaf that carries depth.

The Collection

Hika.Gen currently offers three teas:

Kasumi 霞 — Ceremonial Matcha Sweet pecan, nori umami, hints of jasmine floral, and a creamy body. Our highest grade, for those who want to slow down completely.

Niwa 庭 — Premium Matcha Spice, hawthorn, spring grass, and citrusy brightness. Alive and versatile — beautiful in a latte or on its own.

Nagomi 和 — Premium Hojicha Toast bread, cocoa, brown sugar, warm full body. A medium-roast hojicha for evenings, or whenever you need to feel grounded.
