Norte Pioneiro do Paraná is a mesoregion in the northern part of Paraná State, bordering São Paulo State. It spans about 1.6 million hectares (roughly 7.9% of Paraná’s territory) and sits at elevations of 500–900 meters above sea level. Notably, the Tropic of Capricorn passes right through this region — making it one of the few places on Earth where coffee is grown just outside the tropics.
